Hello Bobcat Families-
I am looking forward to another exciting year as the counselor at Blanche Dodd Intermediate. This begins my 6th year as a school counselor. I also have 17 years of teaching experience in grades 1st – 4th. Currently, I am working on my administrative certificate through our Region 11 service center. I have always been passionate about my career in education with my biggest goal centering on the growth of the “whole” child.
Our campus is dedicated to ensuring each child develops and improves successfully while advancing towards their next milestone. Our Dodd Guidance Program centers around the Six Pillars of Character. (Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, Trustworthiness, and Citizenship) Guidance lessons take place every six weeks and our House Leaders use the character traits during their bi-monthly meetings to encourage our students’ overall success. One of our big focus areas is “being the best you can be, even when no one is watching”.
As a school counselor, I wear many different hats during the day. You may also see me in meetings for 504 and RTI (Response to Intervention). I also conduct the Gifted and Talented testing during the fall. I monitor each student's academic progress and development throughout the year. It is always so rewarding to see our students blossom during the school year. As a mother of 4 grown kids, I can say with all confidence that your children are in the best possible hands here at Dodd.
I am here to assist you in any way I can throughout the school year.
