A little about me...
This is my 13th year teaching for Krum ISD at Blanche Dodd Intermediate. While at Dodd, I have taught English as a Second Language, 4th grade Reading/Language Arts & Social Studies, and now Dyslexia Intervention. This is my 3rd year to teach dyslexia intervention and absolutely love it. I feel very fortunate to be able to work with kids to build on their strengths and meet their needs, in addition to getting to know them for their unique qualities.
In addition, I am also the Dodd National Elementary Honor Society Chapter Adviser. I have been the Chapter Adviser for 2 years and feel lucky to work with these kids. In my role, I strive to help these 5th graders in their acts of service, responsibility, leadership, and scholarship.
On a personal note, I am a wife and a mother. Our family is a rodeo family: my husband ropes; my daughter competes in barrels, poles, and goats; and I barrel race. We also like to go camping and just be outside enjoying our great Texas weather! Also, I am currently in my last semester at Texas Woman's University obtaining a Master's degree in Reading Education. I'm so excited that I'll be graduating with this honor in December!
I feel that the parent - teacher relationship is very important. With this relationship, your child will benefit from the positive outcomes of our communication. Please feel free contact me at any time with any questions and/or concerns that you have and I will help you in the best way I can.
