Greetings Bobcat Families! What an honor it is to serve as the Principal of Blanche Dodd Intermediate School!
I began my career in education as a third grade teacher in Denton ISD. I consider it a privilege to have been an educator in my hometown. I graduated from Denton High School in 1985. I then attended the University of North Texas where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1990 and a Master of Education with a certification in Educational Administration in 1995. Over the course of 25 years, I served the students and families in Denton ISD as an elementary teacher, assistant principal, and principal. In 2015, I made the leap to the secondary level as the assistant principal of Krum Middle School. I am thrilled to now have the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and families of our upper elementary students at Dodd Intermediate as I begin my 28th year in education!
Krum ISD is a unique school district. Some of what drew me to this district is the small-town feel where everyone is a Bobcat, and we show our Bobcat pride through support of our academic programs, fine arts, and sports teams. There’s nothing like seeing a sea of bobcat blue at any school event!
I believe that the education of our children is one of the most important tasks we’ve been given. It is my desire as the building leader to ensure that we provide a positive environment where students are challenged academically and where respect and cooperation are practiced daily. I ask that you partner with us as we strive to prepare our students for the next level of their education and ultimately for their life past high school.
I am looking forward to working with all of our students and families this year. I hope you will take some time to come visit and see what a great place Dodd Intermediate truly is!
