Welcome

I am excited to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! My name is Mrs. DePauw, and this is my fourth year teaching third grade with Krum ISD! I teach reading, writing, and social studies. My team teacher, Mrs. Brown, teaches math and science. I graduated with my bachelor's from the University of Iowa and a master's from the University of Texas at Austin. I moved to Krum five years ago, and I love it here! In my free time, I love to travel, garden, cook, and go to the movies! You can see a slideshow to get to know me here. 

 

This year will look different from the past, because I will start the fall semester on Maternity Leave. I am due to have my first child in mid-August, before student return. I will be back in the classroom in Novemeber. Until then, Jamie Goff will be my long-term substitute. Mrs. Goff has worked on the Dodd campus for the past three years, and I have no doubt your children are in wonderful hands! You can reach her at [email protected]. 

 

Third grade is a wonderful year! Students gain independence and confidence in their learning. I believe children learn best when they are allowed choice throughout the day, use technology to reach their goals, and read for enjoyment at school and at home. We have so much planned and so much to accomplish! Let's make this year the best year yet!
