Meet Our Principal

What an honor it is to serve as the Principal of Blanche Dodd Elementary School! I am excited to welcome all returning students back to Dodd for another great school year, and I'm equally excited to welcome our first-time Dodd students to their new campus!

One of the best parts about being an educator is watching our students grow and learn. It's exciting to watch them set goals, work hard, and ultimately achieve success! We strive to instill a love of learning through self-motivation and encouragement from others. Successes are celebrated here. Whether it be a small success celebrated with a high five or a hug, or long-term goals celebrated at the end of the semester, we teach our students that they can do hard things with hard work and perseverance.

A little bit about me... I began my career in education as a third-grade teacher in Denton ISD. I consider it a privilege to have been an educator in my hometown. I graduated from Denton High School and then attended the University of North Texas, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Education with a certification in Educational Administration. Over the course of my career, I served the students and families in Denton ISD as an elementary teacher, assistant principal, and principal. I later made the leap to the secondary level as the assistant principal of Krum Middle School before proudly stepping into my role serving the students, staff, and families here at Dodd Elementary!

Krum ISD is a unique school district. Some of what drew me to this district is the small-town feel where everyone is a Bobcat, and we show our Bobcat pride through support of our academic programs, fine arts, and sports teams. There’s nothing like seeing a sea of Bobcat blue at any school event!

As principal, I am dedicated to fostering a positive environment where students are challenged, respected, and supported. I invite you to partner with us as we work together to prepare our students for their future success.
