Meet Our Counselor
Hello Blanche Dodd Elementary! I am so excited to be your School Counselor this year! This is my 4th year as the School Counselor at Blanche Dodd Elementary and 8th year in Krum ISD.
I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, Grades 4-8th English, with English 4-8th Certification and English as a Second Language Certification from the University of North Texas and a Master’s Degree of Arts in School Counseling from the University of Texas at Tyler.
I live on a Texas Longhorn Ranch in Krum, am married, and have three children who attend Krum schools. My family and I enjoy showing our cattle, traveling, anything outdoors, reading, music, movies, and spending time together. We have a terrier mix, Posie, and cattle that are like big puppies with names like R4 Cinnasnack and R4 Cream Cheese!
I LOVE being a Bobcat and helping to support our community’s students’ well-being both in and out of the classroom! My Philosophy of Counseling is based on Cognitive Based Therapy and is student centered and solution focused. I meet with students for short-term individual counseling, in small groups, and during monthly classroom lessons. I am also able to provide services that include parental support, staff support, community resources, and therapy referrals.
Additionally, I am the GT Testing, AT Risk, RTI, Watch Dog, Red Ribbon Week, Athletes for Literacy, KHS Mentors, and College and Career Day Coordinator for the campus.
Please contact me with any of your School Counseling requests or needs!
