Visiting/Checkout Procedures

For the safety of our students, every guest must check in at the front office with their driver's license.  A visitor's sticker must be worn if you are checking into the building for any reason.

If you need to meet with your child's teacher please do so during the teacher's conference time or after 3:25 p.m.  You may call the office (940-482-2603) to check for available conference times. 

Traffic Flow During Start & Dismissal Times

In order to alleviate traffic congestion around Blanche Dodd Elementary School, drivers must follow the flow of traffic during pick-up and drop-off times. 

 

Car drop off and pick up: RED LINE
Entering from FM1173 - Proceed up Bobcat Blvd, proceed into the cement parking lot to form two lines,  Proceed into the two lines as you exit the parking lot.  Remain in two lines until you reach the first speed bump.  Merge into one lane to drop off and pick up in the loading zone.
Entering from the north (coming from the high school area), turn left at the four way stop and proceed into the left lane as you enter the Dodd parking lot.  Remain in two lines until you reach the first speed bump.  Merge into one lane to drop off and pick up in the loading zone.  
The road leading into the Dodd parking lot and loading zone is one way traffic 7:15-8:00 and 2:30-4:00 daily.

Busses: YELLOW LINE

All buses will drop off and pick up students using the driveway in front of the school.  The driveway is closed to all vehicle traffic 7:15-8:00 and 3:00-4:00 daily.  Be aware that if you are parked in the front parking lot when buses arrive, you will likely be blocked in until the buses leave.

Walkers: BLUE LINE

All walkers will be escorted from Dodd to the sidewalk on the west side of Bobcat Blvd.  From there…

  • Students may enter the gated courtyard at Krum Middle School to wait for their middle school siblings.

  • Students may proceed to the crosswalk at FM1173 where the crossing guard will help them cross the street.

  • Students may proceed north on the sidewalk towards the high school.  There is a crossing guard at Bobcat Blvd/Victory Way to assist students in crossing Bobcat Blvd. if needed.  

  • Students may walk to the library by following the sidewalk that is located in front of the middle school and cross the driveway to the library. GREEN LINE

 

Notice Regarding Ability to Refuse Entry or Eject Certain Persons and Appeals Process

Texas Education Code 37.105 requires a school district to post the district's policy regarding refusing entry or ejecting certain persons from district property, and the process for an appeal of this action by the persons.
